A little after 6.00 am on Sunday 21st January 2007, we said goodbye to our much loved friend Peter - Wales and the UK's first Commissioner for children and an inspiration to us all. As his team we will continue to listen to Wales' children and young people, to act on what we learn and to make his vision real.

Ychydig ar ôl 6 o'r gloch ar fore dydd Sul 21 Ionawr 2007, wnaethom ffarwelio a'n cyfaill annwyl Peter - pleidiwr dros blant cynta Cymru a'r Deyrnas Gyfunol a oedd yn ysbrydoliaeth i ni i gyd. Fel aelodau o'i dîm byddwn yn parhau i wrando ar blant a phobl ifanc Cymru, i weithredu ar sail yr hyn a ddysgwn ac i wireddu ei weledigaeth ef.

We would like to thank all friends, relatives and colleagues for their kind thoughts, cards, letters and messages of condolence. Peter was a wonderful husband, friend and father and it has been a tremendous support to know that he was so highly thought of in the wider community as well. He always wanted to make a difference and it is reassuring to know that the ripples caused by Peter during his working life continue still.
